Going Home

Welcome Home!

Hey! They left my rawhide chew for me!
It was still raining hard when we drove out of Loveland, but within an hour we'd driven out of the rain.  Although the temperature was high, the sky was blanketed by thin high clouds, perfect for driving without glaring sun.

We stopped several times for rest stops and gasoline, and several times for mini-celebrations with Kentucky Fried Chicken.  We tried the new "grilled" version, but Chastity and I both clearly preferred extra crispy. <g>

It was another long day of driving, but our family was waiting to greet us at gate and door.  We all celebrated our return with much excitement.  I shared our tale with my husband, Wilson, and I'm quite sure Chastity provided a "scented" tale of her own for the other dogs to sniff.

Chastity's cheerfulness continues.  She uses the bandaged leg a little more every day.  I know as she feels better it will become harder to keep her from overstressing the leg, but the reward at the end will make it worthwhile.  What could be more fulfilling for our sighthounds, than to RUN!!

Thank you thank you to the Silken Windhound Community.  Silkenfolk are uniquely supportive.  I have a new appreciation of the value of our group and the individuals in it, and of my good fortune to be a part of it.  I am grateful, humbled and proud to be here.
